SANDVIK DT923I―TUNNELING JUMBOS
Sandvik DT923i is an automated i-series tunneling jumbo able to drill a full face automatically. The drill is equipped with two electro-hydraulic booms designed to provide the highest levels of performance, accuracy and reliability. The automatic drilling functions and boom positioning make it ideal for high quality face drilling at low operating cost. A compact tele remote control station (option) allows the drill to be safely operated remotely and the operator to drill more holes during shift changes, blasting and ventilations times.
iSURE® software (four levels available) utilizes the rig’s data collection to improve the work cycle and the drill and blast excavation process. The optional toolset GeoSURE, for geological analysis and mapping, as well as the onboard 3D-scanner provide valuable feedback to produce rock mass interpretation, assess reinforcement/injection needs and indicate over- and underbreak.

FAST AND AUTOMATED DRILLING PROCESS
With the RD5-series high frequency rock drills and rock tools, a fast automatic rod handling system, this drill is designed for high speed drilling and accuracy. The boom collision prevention and avoidance system is available as option with the Platinum package.
In case of weak ground conditions, Sandvik DT923i can be equipped with the AT – Pipe Umbrella optional kit to install pipes, prior to excavation to create an umbrella/canopy ensuring reliable support and increased stability.
SB110i INSTRUMENTED BOOM
The boom effectively provides up to 62% more side coverage whilst using a fully proportional boom control for accurate and fast manual boom handling delivering operational savings when tunneling.
ROD HANDLING SYSTEM
Sandvik SRH is a fully automatic rod handling system for longhole drilling in tunneling with Sandvik GT38 MF extension rods. The optimal hole size is 64 mm. Typical applications are drilling of injection and probe hole fans heading from tunnel face forward. SRH provides safe, ergonomic and automated way of extension rod handling.
BOOM COLLISION PREVENTION
The boom collision avoidance system improves the reliability of automatic boom movements by identifying the possible collision risks with another boom or carrier. Based on dynamic route recalculation the system not only helps to avoid collisions but helps maintain production rates.
PRECISE & EASY POSITIONING
iNav Total Station option provides a more efficient and convenient way to navigate the jumbo in the tunnels. The operator can command the total station directly from the onboard user interface, the coordinate-based visualizations allow to verify the validity and accuracy of measured points, reducing the risk of errors.

ERGONOMIC CABIN

The optional teleremote control station enables safe drilling from a remote location. It also allows for the drilling of more holes during shift changes, blasting and ventilation times.
